26 July 2025 – ‘That f***ing rock’ conference
There have been numerous shipwrecks along the Gatteville coastline throughout history.
This time, Thierry Louise told us about a rock well known for its dangerous nature: Quilleboeuf.
From the sinking of the Blanche-Nef in 1120 to the catastrophic sinking of the Luna in 1860, Thierry explained the dangers of this rock, which is close to the coast, and the admirable efforts of rescuers to limit the consequences.
This lecture, which had already been given on 8 May 2025, was repeated for all those who regretted missing the first edition.
But this time, thanks to the partnership between Gatteville Héritages and ASCEE50, it was held in the Gatteville lighthouse hall, a privileged location as participants were able to see the Quilleboeuf rock during the lecture!
Thank you to our speaker Thierry, thank you to ASCEE50, and thank you to all the participants!
